These are all very good principles to keep very conscious of. I have a tendency to tell myself almost the exact opposite of these affirmations! I find it quite incredible that I do this - it seems so incredibly self-destructive. I wonder why this is the case though. How did this type of negative self-talk and thinking get started? Why can't I be more positive and therefore more kind to myself and others? Why do I so consistently think in ways that are not supportive? Was it the way that I was raised? My parental and other influences when I was a young child? Why?

Perhaps the 'why' is no longer important -- perhaps dealing with the negative thoughts is more important than the root cause. By focusing on the 'why' I'm actually living in the past when this past is no longer relevant.

Lots to think about!
